We have a chapel service not too long ago and the speaker reminded us of a sad truth: some people go their whole lives thinking no one loves them, least of all God.
One of the worse failings of today's Christian church is that it has lost that simple message: God love you. God loves YOU. It does not matter who you are, what you have done, where you have been, or how you have cursed God for what you think He has done to you; God loves you and wants you to love Him and trust Him.
I started seminary a couple of weeks ago, and I hope that the gargantuan quantity of new information and fancy theology never overshadow that simple message.
